Steven started his career in 1987 with Bank of America’s Corporate Change Management Division he served as an in-house consultant and managed M&A and large projects for affiliate state BofAs.  Steven focused on core conversions, electronic banking, profit and anti-money laundering systems.  

Late in Steven’s career at BofA, he worked on the implementation of PC Banking.  A WSJ publication stated that BofA Texas added 60k new accounts in 6 weeks via Remote Banking.  This led TIB: The Independent BankersBank to search for someone to lead their charge to help the community banks compete with the BofA innovation.  Steven was selected and hired as VP Technology.  Later promoted to SVP and then EVP COO.  During his tenure with TIB he created one of the first Internet Banking platforms in partnership with First Data Corporation.  This partnership was spun-off as a subsidiary and acquired by an investment group that took NASDAQ: Netzee public in Nov 1999.  Steven managed Products and M&A.  Netzee was acquired by Checkfree and then by Fiserv and is now part of Mobility.

At Sheshunoff Management Consulting, he served as Director of Analytics and Software Development.  He created two patents to create self-adjusting segmentation equations using iterative chi-squared and logistic regression.  The product Deposit Score set dynamic limits for overdraft and RDC services and Pricing Partner helps price small business and commercial loans.  These products are the foundation of Velocity Solutions.

He then served as Chief Strategy Officer of the $18B City National Bank – Miami and was in charge of Data Analytics to create actionable leads for retail, small business, RE, C&I, and Private Banking / Wealth Management.  Steven then served in a similar role for Suncoast Credit Union ($13B) in Tampa.  Most recently, Steven ran FinTech Data Science Consulting and Coastline Analytics where he authored analytical modules to help credit unions manage risk, calculate profit, combat attrition, and drive growth.

Finally, Steven has been a frequent speaker at bank and credit union conferences and has authored dozens of published articles.
